Way back, when I was in kindergarten, I made the decision of wanting to be a teacher when I grew up. I held on to that dream, and I pursued my goal. Having received my formation in a Catholic school for 12 years. I followed my call to give back to God's children the same quality education that I received. I truly enjoy being a kindergarten teacher, and I am thrilled to work with such a great faculty and staff here at Saint Frances of Rome School.
I grew up in East Los Angeles where I attended California State University Los Angeles and earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Child Development and a multiple subject teacher credential. I was a teacher at Santa Teresita School in Los Angeles for three years in grades 1 and 2. I was a teacher assistant for five years in the Los Angeles Unified School District in grades 1, 2, and 3. During this time, I was involved in teaching Catholic Catechism Doctrine on the weekends for nine years. Majoring in Child Development influenced me to stay home with three children of my own and raising them full time until the youngest was at school. After this blessed experience of eleven years, I came back to the workforce rejuvenated and with an even greater experience of working with children. When I sent my eldest to kindergarten, I decided that kindergarten was the most enriching and rewarding grade level for me. I was very fortunate to accept this position at Saint Frances of Rome three years ago. I brought my three children along with me, and since then, my eldest son is graduating from the 8th grade, the other two are in grades 4 and 6, and I now have a 2-year-old waiting his turn to attend our school. My husband and I agree that Saint Frances of Rome has had a very positive impact on our family.
